Privacy Policy

The short version
Stampt helps you log and discover real-world experiences. To do that we collect your account details, the content you post (including photos), and — when you allow it — your location. We don’t sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account info: your email, username, password (stored securely), and anything you add to your profile, like a display name, photo, or home city.
- Content you create: the experiences you stamp — titles, ratings, notes, tags, prices, and photos.
- Location: when you take a live photo, we use your device’s precise location to confirm you’re actually at the place and to suggest nearby spots. You can upload a photo instead, which skips the location check.
- Usage & device info: basic technical data such as app interactions, device type, and approximate region, used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use your information
- To provide Stampt — create your account, save your stamps, and build your passport.
- To verify live photos and suggest places near you.
- To personalize your feed and surface experiences you’re likely to find worth it.
- To keep Stampt safe — detect inappropriate or non-original photos, prevent abuse, and act on reports.
- To communicate with you about your account (for example, confirmation and password emails).
What others can see
Content you post publicly is visible to other Stampt users. You control more with privacy settings — you can make your account private (so people must request to follow you) and adjust what’s shown on your passport and map. Follower and following lists are kept private. Please remember that anything you share publicly can be seen, and potentially saved, by others.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run Stampt — for example hosting and authentication (Supabase), bot protection (Cloudflare), and place, map, and photo-safety services (Google). They handle data on our behalf under their own safeguards.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Stampt and its users.
- With other users — the content and profile details you choose to share publicly.
Your choices & rights
- Edit or delete: update your profile and content anytime; delete individual stamps or your whole account (Settings → Delete account), which removes your stamps, plans, and profile.
- Location: control location access through your device settings; without it you can still post by uploading photos.
- Access & deletion requests: depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us and we’ll help.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove your associated data, except where we’re required to keep certain records by law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can access it.
Children
Stampt isn’t intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age where you live). We don’t knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
International users
Stampt may process and store information in countries other than where you live. By using the app, you understand your information may be transferred to and handled in those locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
